This is the pizza recipe you'll make on repeat. Stanky Sauce Garlic Datil Hot Sauce turns a basic homemade pizza into something that tastes like you actually tried. The Datil pepper, Florida's most underrated chile, brings fruity, building heat that hits differently than generic hot sauce. Garlicky, bold, and impossibly craveable.

We brush the garlic butter into the raw dough before it ever hits the oven. Then, the moment it comes out (still crackling), we brush it again. That double application is everything. The first coat gets baked deep into the crust. The second coat stays bright, garlicky, and alive on your tongue.

'The crust is the most neglected real estate on a pizza. Not anymore.'

Fast enough for a Tuesday night. Impressive enough to serve at your next dinner party or backyard gathering. No complicated technique. Just real, bold flavor from one great sauce.

Built with roasted garlic and Florida's Datil pepper this sauce is already your glaze, your dip, and your secret weapon. The natural depth of the garlic and the fruity fire of the Datil do all the work. No marinating. No complicated technique. Just bold, layered flavor baked right into the crust.

Garlicky Datil Pepper Florida-Made Medium Heat
Ingredients
🧄 Stanky Garlic Crust Butter
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 tbsp Stanky Sauce Garlic Datil Hot Sauce (or more you know who you are)
🍕 Dough Choose Your Path

Option 1 Store-Bought

Grab a ball of pre-made pizza dough from your grocery store or bakery. Fast, easy, and still delivers a killer result. No shame in the shortcut.

Option 2 Homemade

  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1½ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar & 1 tsp salt
  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
01

Make the dough (if homemade)

Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour stir until a shaggy dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled. Punch down and roll out.

Skip to step 2 if you're using store-bought dough. No judgment here.
02

Mix your Stanky Garlic Butter

Combine melted butter and Stanky Sauce Garlic Datil Hot Sauce in a small bowl. Stir to combine. Taste it. Make more if needed. This is your secret weapon and it goes on everything.

03

Preheat your oven

Set your oven to 475°F. If you have a pizza stone or steel, put it in now while the oven preheats this is the difference between good and great. A parchment-lined sheet pan works fine too.

Pro move: Preheat your stone or steel for at least 30 minutes before the pizza goes in.
04

Apply the Stanky Garlic Butter

Roll out your dough on a floured surface. Transfer to parchment. Brush the entire surface, edge to edge, with the Stanky Garlic Butter. Then go back and hit the crust border with a little extra. The sauce is the star. Don't be shy.

Want more fire? Add an extra drizzle right before serving.
05

Top it your way

Add your sauce of choice classic tomato, white garlic, smoky BBQ. Then load it up: cheese, meats, roasted vegetables, fresh basil, whatever fuels your flavor.

06

Bake to perfection

Slide the pizza into your preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness. Done when the crust is deep golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly darkened at the edges.

Thicker crust? Add 2–3 extra minutes and check for doneness.
07

Brush the crust. Again.

Pull the pizza from the oven and immediately brush the crust again with leftover Stanky Garlic Butter. This is not optional. This is the moment. That second hit stays bright, fresh, and garlicky right on the surface. Slice, drizzle, and serve.

Tips & Tricks

Full pizza night in 30 minutes

Use store-bought dough and pre-shred your cheese. The Stanky Garlic Butter is the only thing that needs making from scratch, and it takes 60 seconds. Dinner is done.

Great for hosting

Set up a build-your-own pizza bar. Make extra garlic butter and keep it warm on the side. Your guests will drizzle it on everything and that's exactly the host you want to be.

Meal prep the dough

Make dough balls the night before and let them cold-proof in the fridge. A slow overnight rise dramatically improves flavor and stretch. Pull them out 30 minutes before rolling.

Try it on the grill

Stretch the dough, brush with Stanky Garlic Butter, and throw it directly on a hot grill for 2–3 minutes per side. Add toppings after the flip. The char adds smokiness that elevates everything.

✦ Sauce Pairing

Finish with Honey Mango Habanero

Once the pizza is out of the oven and the crust is brushed, reach for the Stanky Sauce Honey Mango Habanero. Drizzle it over individual slices right before eating. The tropical sweetness of mango and honey cuts through the rich, roasted garlic and the habanero adds a second wave of heat that keeps things interesting. The contrast is outrageous in the best way.

The Datil pepper is Florida's answer to the habanero similar heat level but with a fruitier, more complex flavor. On this pizza, the butter base and baking mellow it slightly, making it approachable for most heat lovers. Want more fire? Add an extra tablespoon to the garlic butter.

A pizza stone or steel gives you the crispiest, most restaurant-quality crust but it's not required. A parchment-lined sheet pan preheated in the oven works great too. Just make sure your oven is fully up to 475°F before the pizza goes in.

Classic margherita is stunning. Pepperoni amplifies the heat beautifully. Roasted garlic, caramelized onion, and goat cheese is an elevated move. BBQ chicken brings incredible sweet-smoky contrast. The Stanky Garlic Butter works as a universal flavor base, so it's hard to go wrong.

Yes. Make and portion dough balls the day before and refrigerate overnight a cold slow rise actually improves flavor. The Stanky Garlic Butter can be made ahead and rewarmed. Day of, roll, brush, top, and bake. Your guests will think you spent all day on it.

For adventurous eaters, absolutely. If your kids are heat-sensitive, reduce the hot sauce to just a teaspoon in the garlic butter. The garlicky, buttery crust alone is irresistible even without much heat. Adults can always drizzle more sauce on their own slices.
